3-Player Warm-up
-Here is the very elementary "warm-up" using 3 players that begins to touch on some of the concepts that will be further developed in the later drills.
Click here for a printable reminder list of the Warm-up patterns

Key Points:

1. As Always. Show to the pass - Lots of talk - Anticipate and Move into Space.

2. The "midfield" turn can be done differently depending on the degree of defensive pressure.

-Without tight marking the ball can be received on the "half turn". Here the player turns with the ball and makes the controlling touch with the foot away from the passer and towards the new direction. This is fast and quickly begins movement downfield.

-With tight making, the turn may have to done while "shielding" the ball. Here the player makes the touch with the foot closest to the passer and away from the defender. The touch can be with the outside or inside of the foot as the player turns around the defender while "hiding" the ball. This is similar to the "Shield Turn" dribbling moves. (click here)
